This adventurous Great Blue Heron went for the gold in finally subduing a very large Rainbow trout that it had pursued through the shallow waters of an inlet in Vermont's Lake Champlain, Only problem was that the heron couldn't lift the fish up high enough to allow it to slide down the bird's throat ! After laboring for well over 15 minutes, the heron finally gave up and flew away. Just as well - I've never done a Heimlich on a heron !
