"Golden strut"

The last rays of light peeked through the newly budding spring trees, casting a band of gold over the field. The tips of the old toms fan were first to peek over the hill as he worked towards me. Like a highlighter in a see of brown, the half circle fan became a whole turkey, strutting for his ladies before hitting the roost tree.
