"First to the meadow"

As the sun broke through the late spring woods, warming the meadow for the first time that day, a familiar sound broke the silence. The newly budded woods were dipped in gold, blocking most of the open space from the suns rays. Shadows crept slowly, and the wild turkey was looking for that late season love.
