"Wild Turkey Hen Feathers"
By: Dale Kauzlaric (Rothschild, WI)
On this day, a flock of almost 50 eastern turkeys came in. A hen came within 3 feet. This is a close up of her feathers on her side. It is amazing the colors that are found in a turkey's feathers when you are extremely close. The end of the feathers of a hen are buff colored, while a tom turkey's feathers are edged in black. This is how you can tell where a feather came from.
