"The West He Left Me"

By: Braydon Jarboe (Whitesville, KY)

Photographed in the Grand Tetons on April 5, 2026, this photograph holds a meaning far beyond the landscape itself. My dad loved the American West, and the day after I captured this image marked seven years since his passing on April 6, 2019. Standing among the mountains and wide-open country he loved, I felt connected to him in a place that meant so much to him. This photograph is a tribute to his love for the West and a reminder that the places and memories we cherish can live on long after we’re gone.
