NWTF Legacy Callmaker Collection – Auction Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the National Wild Turkey Federation (“NWTF”) Legacy Callmaker Collection online auction. By placing a bid or creating an account, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms as well as any rules posted within the auction platform.
1. Auction Format & Bidding Rules
1.1 Straight Bidding OnlyThis auction uses a straight-bid format. When you submit a bid, the amount you enter becomes the current visible bid. NWTF does not use ladder bidding or hidden maximum bid systems. Ladder bidding refers to automated bidding where the system increases your bid incrementally up to a concealed maximum; this functionality is not available in this auction.
1.2 No Time ExtensionsOnce the auction reaches its scheduled end time, the auction closes immediately. Bids placed after the closing timestamp will not be accepted. Some NWTF auctions use “soft close” extensions, but this auction does not. The bidder holding the highest valid bid at the exact closing time will be deemed the winner.
1.3 Binding CommitmentPlacing a bid constitutes a binding offer to purchase the item at that price. Winning bidders are responsible for timely payment of the final transaction total, which includes the winning bid amount and the applicable shipping charge.
2. Shipping, Handling & Insurance
2.1 Insured ShippingAll turkey calls will be shipped to the winning bidder using a method that includes insurance coverage equal to the value of the final transaction. Insurance protects the item while it is in the possession of the shipping carrier.
2.2 Shipping FeesThe shipping charge displayed for each call will be automatically added to the winning bidder’s final invoice. By placing a bid, you agree to these charges at checkout.
2.3 Risk of LossOnce the call is transferred to the carrier, NWTF is not responsible for delays, carrier errors, or issues arising during transit.
3. Bidder Privacy & Data Handling
3.1 Hidden Bidder IdentitiesBidder names and identities are not visible to other participants during or after the auction.
3.2 Administrative VisibilityBidder names, contact information, and bid histories are visible to NWTF staff and authorized auction administrators only, for the purposes of managing the auction, resolving issues, and fulfilling shipments.
3.3 Data ProtectionPersonal data is handled in accordance with NWTF privacy policies and industry-standard security practices.
4. Secure Payment Processing & Tokenized Profiles
4.1 Authorize.Net TokenizationThe platform uses Authorize.Net’s tokenized payment profile system, a secure, industry-leading method for storing payment information. When a bidder adds a credit card to their profile, the card number is not stored on NWTF servers. Instead:
Authorize.Net encrypts the card information.
A secure, unique payment token is returned to the NWTF system.
This token can only be used by NWTF to process payments for auction activity.
The token cannot be converted back into a card number or used outside the Authorize.Net gateway.
4.2 Security & Staff AccessNWTF staff cannot view complete credit card numbers at any time. Tokenization dramatically reduces fraud risk by ensuring your sensitive data is fully protected.
4.3 Final Payment ProcessingAfter auction close, the winning bidder’s saved payment profile (token) is used to securely process the final total, including the shipping fee. By bidding, you authorize NWTF to charge this card upon auction completion.
5. Item Descriptions & Callmaker Representations
5.1 Callmaker-Provided DescriptionsDescriptions, materials, craftsmanship notes, and other details associated with each auction item are submitted directly by the callmaker.
5.2 Accuracy DisclaimerWhile NWTF strives to present accurate and complete information, NWTF makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, quality, completeness, or reliability of any descriptions provided by callmakers.
5.3 No Responsibility for ErrorsNWTF bears no responsibility or liability for inaccuracies, omissions, or misrepresentations in any call description submitted by the callmaker.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
NWTF shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from participation in the auction.
NWTF is not responsible for website interruptions, technical issues, data transmission delays, or bid submission failures.
NWTF’s maximum liability for any claim related to an auction item shall not exceed the amount paid by the winning bidder for that item.
7. Indemnification
By participating in the auction, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NWTF and its officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses arising from:
Your participation in the auction;
Your violation of these Terms;
Your misuse of the auction platform;
Any dispute between you and a callmaker, shipper, or other third party.
8. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, placing a bid, or otherwise participating in the auction, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. NWTF reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time, and continued participation constitutes acceptance of any changes.
